Oz Education Campsie’s Natural Nonie

The concrete jungle that is our city of Sydney often seems to drive the natural environment further and further away from the lifestyle that we all live today.

At Oz Education Campsie, Centre Director – Nonie, uses sustainable practices to bring plant life and cute critters back to the children’s outdoor areas.

Sourcing tired, old wooden palettes, rubber tyres, and timber sleepers destined for the rubbish, Nonie puts these items to wonderful use to create interesting and sustainable projects for the children to enjoy.

Seen in the images above are Oz Education Campsie’s rubber tyre frog planter, timber sleeper puppet theatre stand, and wooden palette vertical garden.

A few nuts and bolts from our friends at Bunnings Warehouse, some elbow grease and a couple of hits of the hammer, comes these wonderful creations.
Children at Oz Education Campsie enjoy caring for their new found mini gardens, have welcomed a family of caterpillars to our community and put their puppeteering skills on show as they imagine their way through each day with use of the puppet theatre for daily performances and shows.

Thankyou to Nonie and the team for their efforts in keeping our centre a sustainable place for our children, families and environment!
