In the demanding world that is today, children need learning and play as much as ever.
With the Council of Australian Government’s vision in mind – “that all children have the best start in life to create a better future for themselves and for the nation”, we at Oz Education Early Learning Centres work toward this aspiration by providing a preschool program to cover all bases. A play-based program that incorporates structured learning sessions with spontaneous & planned exploration and learning challenges, provides the basis of our curriculum.
Preschool has become the norm for children in Australia during their year before formal schooling. Professor Fiona Stanley, of the School of Paediatrics & Child Health at the University of Western Australia and UNICEF Australian Ambassador for Early Childhood Development, quotes “So many of the factors affecting the success of a child’s formal education start well before formal schooling.”
The socialisation and introduction to people outside their family are the factors that allow a child’s world to open up into a rich environment of learning and culture. Seeking knowledge is an instinctive trait of humans and these early years form the foundation for this.
Our Oz Education Advantage Preschool Program utilises children’s interests and hunger for knowledge to foster learning that emerges from intentional teaching strategies based on each child’s play choices. Throughout the preschool year, we cover topics including:
- Families, Friends & Communities
