Oz Chefs Cooking Program

Oz Education provides early learning cooking experiences for children. As they gather around and put on their chef hats, they embark on a journey of tasty creativity and fun sensory experiences! Guided by our experienced educators, children learn basic cooking techniques, such as measuring ingredients, mixing, and following simple recipes. These activities promote fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Children will learn how to handle utensils, pour, stir, and decorate their culinary creations.

Cooking experiences are both educational and enjoyable for children. Children work together to share tasks, take turns, and communicate effectively, building essential social skills while fostering a sense of responsibility. Through hands-on experiences, children also develop a strong understanding of nutrition, learning about healthy ingredients, portion sizes, and the importance of balanced meals.

They will also build cognitive skills like sequencing (following recipe steps), problem-solving (adjusting ingredients or fixing small mistakes), and math skills (measuring, counting, and estimating).

Children experiment with flavors, textures, and colors, making decisions about how to decorate or combine ingredients. These experiences expand their palates, encourage adventurous eating, and create positive associations with healthy food. They gain confidence as they see the tangible results of their efforts, from a perfectly stirred batter to a beautifully arranged fruit platter. This sense of accomplishment encourages self-esteem and pride in their abilities.
