Annika | Redfern Centre Director

Annika is the Centre Director at Oz Education Redfern, where she plays an active role in supporting children, families, and the wider local community. With a strong foundation in Early Childhood Teaching and a commitment to high‑quality, inclusive education, Annika leads the centre with a focus on building meaningful relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and creating a welcoming space where families feel connected and supported. She is dedicated to continuous improvement and ensuring every child and family feels valued as part of the Oz Education community.

“Childhood is a time of wonder, and it’s a privilege to create environments where children feel safe, confident, and free to explore the world around them in their own unique way.” – Annika

Annika's Journey with Oz Education

Annika’s vision as Centre Director is to create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. She believes that learning happens everywhere and in every moment, and is passionate about designing environments that spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and celebrate each child’s individuality.

A strong advocate for inclusive practice, Annika values the rich knowledge and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and is committed to embedding respect, cultural understanding, and connection to Country into everyday learning experiences. She believes this deepens children’s sense of belonging and helps build strong, respectful connections with the community and the natural world around them.

Building genuine partnerships with families is central to Annika’s approach. She recognises parents and carers as a child’s first and most important teachers, and believes that working collaboratively with families creates the strongest foundation for children’s wellbeing, learning, and development. Her goal is for every family to feel welcomed, supported, and connected from the moment they walk through the centre doors.

Annika is equally dedicated to supporting and empowering her team. She fosters a collaborative and reflective culture where educators feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow professionally. Through strong leadership, ongoing development, and shared practice, she creates an environment where educators can thrive – and in turn, provide the highest quality care for children.

Outside of her role at the centre, Annika enjoys spending time with her family and remaining actively involved in the local community. This reflects her belief that education extends beyond the classroom and that meaningful connections help shape positive outcomes for children, families, and the wider community.

Above all, Annika is deeply committed to ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of every child she has the privilege of supporting throughout their early learning journey.

Childcare Funding Support For Families

The Government has introduced the 3 Day Guarantee, which provides all CCS eligible families with a minimum of 72 subsidised hours per fortnight, no matter your work, study or training hours.

Oz Education Early Learning Centres offer flexible hours – 9, 10, 11 or full day long daycare sessions to help minimise your out-of-pocket expenses for childcare and save further. If your family is entitled to a maximum subsidy of 95%, your fees could start from as little as $12 a day, depending on the centre.

Oz Education centres in New South Wales are approved for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and participate in the NSW Start Strong program.

This ensures families can benefit from high‑quality early learning while reducing out‑of‑pocket expenses. We’re here to support families and provide the best care and learning for every child.
