Oz Education provides an educational and fun early learning gardening program. As children dig into the soil, plant seeds, and care for growing plants, they embark on a hands-on journey of discovery, curiosity, and connection with nature. Through gardening, children actively engage with the natural environment, using their senses to explore textures, smells, colours, and sounds. These experiences encourage curiosity and help children develop an early understanding of how plants grow and change over time.
Gardening experiences are both educational and meaningful for children. Guided by our experienced educators, children learn about the lifecycle of plants – from planting seeds and watering, to observing growth and harvesting. These activities support cognitive development and ignite confidence as children observe cause and effect, make predictions, and develop early scientific thinking.
Gardening also promotes fine and gross motor skills as children dig, scoop soil, water plants, and handle gardening tools. These hands-on movements strengthen coordination and physical development in a fun and purposeful way.
As children care for their garden, they learn responsibility, patience, and teamwork. Working together to water plants, pull weeds, and tend garden beds encourages cooperation, communication, and respect for shared spaces. Children develop an understanding of sustainability and environmental care, learning where food comes from and the importance of looking after the natural world. Our early learning gardening program encourages children to explore the natural environment using all five senses while developing an appreciation for nature, healthy food, and sustainable practices.
