Oz Education Early Learning Centres has opened a new centre on a beautiful one-acre piece of land in the seaside town of Lake Cathie on the mid-north coast of New South Wales.
Our new Lake Cathie centre offers 75 places per day and is open 50 weeks a year, providing a high level of quality early education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old.
A place that feels like home
The purpose-built centre provides a place where children feel safe, valued, and respected and have a sense of belonging in their environment.
“At Oz Education, we put children first, “ says Rebecca Agius, Operations Manager – Oz Education. “Our centres provide stimulating spaces that are tailored for different age groups supported by caring educators who create nurturing environments that suit individual needs and routines .”
“Children at Oz Education are able to explore, question, make choices and grow through enriching learning experiences and interactions with their peers and educators.”
“As we work in partnerships with parents, staff and children, we strive to deliver outstanding services that families across NSW have come to love over our 40 years of existence.”
Quality early education
Oz Education Lake Cathie offers an environment that encourages children to love to learn through enriching fun experiences suited to individual interests, abilities and developmental needs.
“Learning through play helps each child learn and make sense of the world around them through interaction in social settings with other children,” cites Jessica Ross Centre Director of Oz Education Lake Cathie.
Play allows children to learn, discover, create and imagine. They can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments.
“In addition, our educators provide the highest quality of education and care through their qualifications, dedication and experience,” adds Jessica.
An extensive outdoor environment
The centre’s extensive outdoor environment is thoughtfully designed on one acre of land and encourages children’s exploration, curiosity and engagement.
It provides the opportunity to interact with the natural elements – dirt, sand, water, grass, boulders and timber logs to name a few. Engagement with natural elements such as these provokes children’s curiosity, invites exploration and interaction, stimulates thinking and spontaneity; and encourages risk-taking and problem-solving.
“In the outdoor environment, our professional team of educators further support children’s learning as they interact, build relationships and challenge children in their learning and exploration,” says Rebecca Baker, who shares the role of Centre Director with Jessica.
Children are provided with opportunities to engage with the natural environment and are encouraged to develop an appreciation and respect for nature. We invite children to play an active role in sustainable practices including gardening, recycles, composting and the conservation of water.
A culture of respect and appreciation of the natural environment is encouraged at Oz Education Lake Cathie, through children playing an active role in recycling and composting, water conservation and interactions with the natural environment.
