In the lead-up to our Mother’s Day celebration, Oz Education children have been learning new skills through fun Mother’s Day activities suited to their abilities and interests. The activities range from creating sustainable Mother’s Day gifts using recycled materials to learning to sing a new song for their mini Mother’s Day concert.
On the special day, each child had the opportunity to share a variety of fun experiences with their mother at all our centres. Little fingers were busy making sweet cupcakes using playdough, stringing beaded necklaces, sticking beautiful collages and colouring in Mother’s Day cards, alongside their mums. The memorable day was well captured as families got creative at a fabulous Mother’s Day photo booth.
The Mother’s Day celebration was also an opportunity for our wonderful community to come together and build meaningful connections. It supports our Early Learning Program which stems from the three main pillars of the Early Years Learning Framework – Being, Belonging, and Becoming.
“Little children learn more about their surrounding world when they understand how it came to ‘being’. Our early learning program helps them experience where they belong, and with whom. They also encourage little ones to ‘become’ active and engaged members of their community,” said Rebecca, Operations Manager – Oz Education Early Learning Centres.
The Mother’s Day celebration truly enabled our children to share beautiful moments with their mothers as they gathered to enjoy a delightful Mother’s Day high tea buffet with their friends and the wider community.
“Thank you to all families for coming to our Mother’s Day celebrations and for joining in the fun Mother’s Day activities. Special mention to all our enthusiastic educators, chefs and volunteer parents who went the extra mile to make our mums feel extra special at Oz Education Mother’s Day celebrations,” said Rebecca.
All our Early Learning Centres offer community events throughout the year including Chinese New Year, Harmony Day, Easter and Red Nose Day. Community events are also held to include families, and they include Father’s Day, Family and Friends Day and International Families Day.
